Alvin of William McLean b.1770 in Penn. died 1854 and buried at Alamance Church, Guilford Co. North Carolina. William's wife was Elizabeth Akins."

John McLean b. 1690 Ireland, m. 1715, emigrated to America in 1737 with 6 children and settled in Pennsylvania on Schuykill River. His son Joseph, b. Ireland, came to PA with father, m. Nancy Marshall, 5 or 6 children. Joseph's son William b. 1770, moved to North Carolina, m. Isabelle Akin 1800, d. 1854, buried Alamance Church. Seven or nine children: 1) Joseph b. 1807 or 1810, m. Abagail Paisley, 2) MAry m. John Akin, 3)Pasty m. Joseph McBride, 4) Alvin, 5) William Robeson b. 1819 in North Carolina, moved to Illinois in 1841, m. Emily Barry, d. 1876 buried Waveland Cemetary, Montgomery Co. Illinois, 6)William Akin (?), 7) Joseph A. b. 1809, m. Polly Collier 1825, 8) John d. in NC, 9) Addison 1811-1875 m.
