!HISTORY: Elder Nathaniel Tilden came from Tenterden, Kent, England with his family before 1628. He was chosen ruling elder of the First Church of Scituate 1634. Home was on Kent Street. Held lands at Long Marsh and in 1640 had land on East side of North River below Gravely Beach. History of Marshfield--Richars p.21 VII; Elder Nathaniel Tilden was one of 3 brother. They were called "Men of Kent from England".
