| !1880 census lists Laura A. Moody age 52; occupation, sweeper in the state department. she has asthima, she was born in VA, her dad was born in VA, her mom was born in VA. She is head of household. John Ellis is listed as her son, Ella his wife, and Emma thier daughter. Meatilda (Serwin) (this spelling is a guess, the copy was very bad.) and is her daughter aged 29 - listed in same house. 1870 census lists John Ellis 16 years, in school, living with Laura Moodey, Laura is a seamstress. Found notation in Doc's journal which gave her death date and stating that he had attended to her for years prior to her death and was a friend to the family. |

| !by the 1870 census Laura is a Moodey. Found Sam and Laura on the 1850 census for Alexandria VA. Says he was born in MD, a craftsman and 23 years of age. Lara was born in VA, also 23 years old. 1860 Alexandria VA census has Samual and Laura with children John age 5, born in VA and Matilda age 10. Sam and Laura are both 33. |
