He married Elizabeth (Betsey) Craig. The earl of Granville "gave, granted, bargained, sold and confirmed" to William Blackwood in 1755, four hundred and eighty (480) acres of land on both sides of Buffalo Creek in the Parish of St. Matthew, County of Orange and Province of North Carolina.

Clark, Litchfield, IL. 62056 It was linked to William Blackwood Jr., via AOL message from Roger Crouse. He said that a will left by William Blackwell Jr. in 1829 Orange Co. NC, lists daughters Hannah Selph, Elisabeth Allen, MAry Craig, Martha Craig, Jane McCauly, Ann Potts, Margaret Long, Sarah Gates, Nancy, Katharine, and Fannie Shall. Sons John, James, Johnston and William. married last names of Nancy and Fannie are different on the two sources. Ann Potts does not show up at all on Blackwood and Craig Family reunion paper. Isabel and Frank are on paper but not on Will.
